Back of the Book:

Endearing characters, tender romances, triumphs of faith—these are the gems readers have cherished and anticipated in each one of Lori Wick’s beloved novels. Now Lori brings the same treasures to a very special connection of eight short stories, delightful glimpses of the life and love found beyond the picket fence.

Beyond the Picket Fence

Nikki, a children’s book writer, and Dorian, a single dad raising a son and a daughter, discover the delicate chapter that lies beyond friendship.

Be Careful with My Heart

Hunter and Casey, members of a popular gospel trio, learn about a new symphony of love.

The Christmas Gift

With wide eyes and an open heart, ten-year-old foster child Brenda receives the season’s greatest gift.

At the end of each story, Lori shares a personal insight into the characters or background of what she has written.

My Review:

I enjoyed reading these short stories. It was nice to have a break from the long novels. The stories were usually light-hearted and easy to get into. My favorites were The Rancher’s Lady and Beyond the Picket Fence, but all of them were great.

Sadly, it’s been a long time since I’ve read these stories, so I can’t comment any further on them. Fans of Lori will enjoy them, though.

All reviews on this site are broken up into two parts. The first half is what the back of each book says. It is under copyright by the companies that published the books. I only reiterate it to give you a good understanding of what the book is about. The second half is my own personal review and should not be copied or otherwise taken without my express permission unless you give me credit for saying it and link back to the page it is posted on.
