Humanity's Edge
Back of the Book:
What makes one Human? This is a question which had been pondered for centuries. Author Tamara Wilhite has assembled a collection of short stories that make the Twilight Zone dull in comparison, to help the reader further ponder this question.
Set in mankind’s future, Humanity’s Edge is a precursor to bigger and better things to come from this talented Science Fiction author.
My Review:
I enjoyed reading this collection of stories. They really did make you think about what makes a person human. They were unique plot lines that I had never heard of before. I wanted to learn more about some of them. These would be great starting blocks for longer novels.
The only things that bothered me were the many typos when it came to punctuation (missing periods, periods in wrong places, etc.), and Tamara’s writing style. Especially in the first story, there were no spaces between paragraphs to mark a significant jump in time. One paragraph would end with action happening in the evening, and the next paragraph would pick things up in the morning. It takes a while for the brain to understand that it’s a different time or place. Also, the sentence structure confused me many times. It wasn’t as easy to read a many other books. By the end of the book I was able to understand what was happening better than when I started the book.
